«Nesta região ocorre uma excepcional conjugação de vários fatores que formam uma extraordinária geodiversidade, incluindo: - provas da abertura do Atlântico, com o afastamento entre a península Ibérica e o Canadá, durante o Mesozóico; - evidências da colisão entre a península Ibérica e a África, mais tarde, no Cenozóico. - uma fratura que corta toda a crosta terrestre, separando blocos que se movimentaram naquelas duas fases, definindo o essencial da paisagem atual; - a história geológica mais recentes desta zona litoral reflete as grandes mudanças globais e interage com a ocupação humana desde tempos ancestrais.

O vale tifónico das Caldas da Rainha (Figura 1) é a estrutura condutora, embora não exclusiva, desta excursão. O vale é a expressão geomorfológica de um anticlinal (uma dobra convexa das camadas geológicas), conhecido como diapiro das Caldas da Rainha, com o núcleo formado por materiais geológicos moldáveis. Estes pertencem a uma Sinclinal de Alcobaça-Bombarral 2 unidade conhecida como “Margas de Dagorda”, composta por margas e argilas com evaporitos (sal-gema ou halite, gesso e anidrite), com intercalações de calcários. Este anticlinal localiza-se sobre a referida falha crustal, também denominada falha das Caldas da Rainha (Figura 1). Na fase em que a Europa e a América se afastavam, a fratura abriu e permitiu a ascensão de magma que consolidou como corpos sub-vulcânicos, nomeadamente o monte de S. Bartolomeu, entre outros. A compressão entre a Europa e a África traduziu-se pela formação do anticlinal acima referido, formando os seus flancos ainda não erodidos os relevos que actualmente ladeiam o vale tifónico das Caldas Rainha (Figura 2). A ocidente, estes flancos separam o vale do oceano, mas são entalhados por gargantas que estabelecem a comunicação do mar com o interior da depressão e permitem a drenagem das águas e sedimentos provenientes do continente.

Depois da última grande glaciação, que terminou há cerca de 20.000 anos, o mar subiu entre 120 a 140 m, invadindo uma grande parte do vale, formando vastas lagunas com máxima extensão há cerca de 7.000 anos, no Holocénico médio. Depois do mar estabilizado, as lagunas foram sendo assoreadas pelos sedimentos trazidos pelos rios, mas em quantidades que refletem as actividades humanas nas bacias de drenagem – de notar que a deflorestação e a agricultura aumentam imenso a erosão dos solos.

A laguna de S. Martinho do Porto é um destes casos (Fig. 2), sendo a “concha” actual o remanescente de uma vasta laguna que se estendia ainda na Idade Média por mais 5 km até Alfeizerão. Já a várzea a sul de Nazaré e Valado dos Frades corresponde à colmatação total da antiga laguna da Pederneira. Parte da Laguna de Óbidos também ocupava espaços deste vale (...)».

 From Colombia come a very good example of Deep Democracy with "Consulta Popular Anticorrupción": yesterday 11,7 millions of Persons vote against corruption! Despite the minimum limit of 12,1 millions for juridic force, the result have a great political force, with a more support than President of Republic in secons round of election (10,4 milions of votes), without minimum limits.

All of that with a lot of difficulties like the need of registration of Persons for vote, because oligarchy don´t support the consult in the same time of Presidential Eleccions ... today oligarchy hidden the historical event in mass media ...
